Pronunced /hō’zā/ (english pronuntiation), with the stress on the “o” vowel, rock singer, web designer, columnist and economist. Grestch guitars fanatic, Jose sings and plays all the instruments in his records.

His compositions are a mixture of pop, rock, surf and psychedelia with a unique flavour and heavy use of tremolo effect. His main influences are The Doors, Chris Isaak, Tito & Tarantula and all 60s surf music.

All his lyrics are populated by fatal women, odd characters and double senses in black and white scenes. He likes to stress his audience’s mind with an overwhelming number of concepts and meanings, like in a David Lynch movie.

Jose began into music at the early age of 6, when he started to take music lessons followed by piano lessons at 10 and since then, he always has been involved in all kinds of musical projects, different bands and a folk-rock live act called “Old Rose”.

He graduated from Northumbria University at Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK with an International Business Administration degree. Jose involves in several creative projects, from music recording to web designing and content writing.

Negative charge is the brand new album by The Quakes, their 8th studio recording and one of the psychobilly main events of the 2009 year.
Published on March, 9th, the album sound is a trip through the different ages of The Quakes, from their early hardcore mixture of psychobilly with punk, to the 80’s neo-billy and all the stuff they recorded in between.
